Enea Supports Next-Generation Freescale QorIQ Processors
Enea will support the next generation of Freescale Semiconductor’s Advanced Multi-Processing Series (AMP) QorIQ embedded multicore processors in its Enea OSE Multicore Edition real-time operating system, Enea Hypervisor, and the Enea Optima Development Suite. Enea promises its software will deliver a scalable development platform while unlocking all of the features available in the AMP family. The QorIQ AMP processors rely on a multi-threaded, 64-bit Power Architecture e6500 core. The series will scale from single core to 24 virtual core devices, and the e6500 architecture will incorporate the AltiVec vector processing unit. Also, hardware accelerators and co-processing engines will provide a plethora of options for packet, protocol, and security acceleration.
