Mesh network software complements ZigBee modules

When used with its AC4790 range of 900 MHz wireless modules with power outputs of up to 1 W, Laird Technologies, Inc.’s new Extreme Mesh software technology permits users to build meshes with inter-node distances well in excess of one mile, providing redundancy and reliability for applications such as pipeline monitoring.

The Extreme Mesh software in conjunction with the robust industrial wireless module, offers static mesh operation, frequency hopping, extended temperature range, as well as extremely simple set-up and installation, said Laird. The ease of installation is key to the deployment of such systems in remote locations where products need to work out of the box. To aid developers, an AT command interface is provided to control the nodes of the mesh network.

According to the supplier, its new Extreme Mesh technology complements its existing line of ZigBee Your Way modules.
