Opera Sings Google Android For WAC

To support the latest wholesale applications community (WAC) 1.0 spec, Opera software unveils a runtime platform for Google’s Android operating system. The alpha release of Opera’s widget runtime will enable users to develop next-gen apps for smart phones. Simultaneously, the WAC runtime serves as a platform for distribution. As per Christen Krogh, chief developer officer for Opera software, “Opera is participating in WAC and remains committed to take the WAC platform to the masses.” With the Widget runtime for Android, Opera enters a natural arena for its popular widget system.
