Imagination Technologies’ META multi-threaded processor  family plus META-connected app platforms now includes support for the Google  Android operating system (OS). The OS runs on the META Linux kernel and offers  full symmetric multi-processor and hot-plug features. Android for META runs  standard binary Android apps and features a specially-created port of the  Dalvik Virtual Machine. In essence, META provides a scalable Android  configuration using small and efficient processors as well as high-performance  systems-on-a-chip (SoCs). As per Tony King-Smith, VP of marketing at  Imagination, “By delivering support for the Android OS, which is rapidly  becoming an industry standard for app development, we are now able to provide a  complete META-based application platform solution.” We shall see. </p>
