The UEI-RSS serial server software from United Electronic Industries makes the company’s line of PowerDNx DNx-SL-501 and DNx-SL-508 devices accessible as Windows or Linux serial ports. The application allows control of as many as 255 serial ports via a single PC over one Ethernet port. In addition to increasing the number of ports available, it allows mounting of the ports remotely. Teaming the company’s standard chassis, users can deploy ports at distances up to 100 m from the host. Employing the Fiber interface cubes, distance extends up to 20 km from the host. UEI-RSS Serial Server software comes with the purchase of DNx-SL-501 and/or DNx-SL-508 devices.
