Virtualization App Secures TI’s OMAP 4 Processors

Sculpted for the OMAP 4 application processors from Texas Instruments (TI), Integrity Secure Virtualization (ISV) nests upon Green Hills Software’s Integrity real-time operating system (RTOS). It exploits TI’s built-in M-Shield technology to build a bulletproof wall between security and real-time apps hosted by the RTOS and a general-purpose multimedia OS, such as Android, Meego, and Windows.

ISV includes the certified Integrity OS, the means to execute one or more guest OSs on TrustZone technology-enabled systems-on-a-chip (SoCs), and a communications interface for the normal zone to request services of the secure zone. This architecture enables security- and reliability-critical tasks to run safely with guaranteed memory, CPU time resources, and device-access control, regardless of what is happening in the normal zone.
