Sprague-Goodman Electronics, Inc. has added a new line of ceramic trimmer capacitors designed for telecom and microwave applications requiring miniature components. Designated the SGC3S series, these super thin surface mounted devices measure 0.126 in (3.2 mm) x 0.177 in (4.50 mm) x 0.059 in (1.5 mm) and are RoHS compliant. They are constructed with high temperature liquid-crystal polymer housings for superior durability and low dielectric loss.

According to the manufacturer, the housing is constructed to resist dust and flux, and is colored for easy identity. The parts are crafted for designs requiring very minimal capacitance drift over the operating temperature range of –25 °C to 85 °C. The SGC3S series capacitance ranges are:

• SGC3S030 (Black): 1.2 to 3.0 pF
• SGC3S060 (Blue): 2.2 to 6.0 pF
• SGC3S100 (Ivory): 3.0 to 10.0 pF
• SGC3S200 (Pink): 5.5 to 20.0 pF
• SGC3S300 (Green): 8.0 to 30.0 pF

The trimmer capacitors are designed for reflow soldering. And are available in embossed carriers. In 1,000-piece quantities, each capacitor is priced at $0.32 each.
