World’s first Mobile WiMAX gaming device
At the ‘WiMAX World USA 2007’ Conference and Expo, POSDATA unveiled a new gaming platform that will enable gaming enthusiasts to download games and access the Internet using high-speed Mobile WiMAX connections.
The platform, named G100, is a specialized terminal for games that were developed by POSBRO, a Mobile WiMAX device subsidiary of POSDATA. It is the world’s first portable online gaming device and set to revolutionize the gaming distribution industry. The G100 will operate in its initial release at 2.3 GHz and 2.5 GHz bands according to POSDATA.
The keynote speaker of the event, Scott Richardson, chief strategy officer of Clearwire, introduced G100 during his speech and demonstrated various functions onsite, attracting wide attention from telecommunications industry representatives and visitors.
The G100 has an embedded four-inch, touch-screen TFT-LCD, thus ensuring intuitive operation and a wide view. It also includes a sliding-style game pad. The product supports various networks, such as Mobile WiMAX, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth, allowing the user to select the most appropriate network to make a connection. The official release of the product is expected by the end of this year.
POSDATA also featured a USB-type terminal that allows the user to connect it to a notebook and access Mobile WiMAX network. The U100, to be released next month, has a clean exterior, is lightweight and easy to use, and has been under development in collaboration with Korea Telecom, the world’s leading Mobile WiMAX service provider in Korea.
