WiMAX World 2008 Sets Records

With more than 10% growth in attendance and a 15% increase in sponsors and exhibitors, last week’s WiMAX World 2008 Conference & Expo was the largest event ever held in the WiMAX market, according to its organizers. More than 9000 professionals attended the show at McCormick Place in Chicago.

This year's event featured over 350 exhibitors and sponsors and presentations by more than 175 speakers. Summits and workshops covered a wide range of topics focusing on three themes: WiMAX deployment, enabling technologies, and demand generation for mobile broadband.

"WiMAX World also has served as a showcase for the entire WiMAX ecosystem to communicate its progress in the market and confirm that indeed WiMAX is here and now."

The 6th annual WiMAX World 2009 event will be held again at McCormick Place in Chicago Sept. 15-17, 2009. To date, 70% of sponsors and exhibitors at this year's event have already signed contracts to participate in next year’s event.
