Wireless Radio System Demonstrates 3GPP Capability
The Antenna Embedded Radio architecture from Ubidyne GmbH has successfully demonstrated full functionality and 3GPP radio performance, according to the company. Ubidyne said that the uB900 Antenna Embedded Radio is the most highly integrated radio system for wireless networks and outperformed all of the 3GPP performance testing standards. The latest tests come one year after a demonstration of an initial product concept.
The 3GPP is a collaboration agreement that brings together a number of telecommunications standards bodies to produce globally applicable Technical Specifications for third-generation mobile systems like UMTS, which is the preferred 3G wireless technology being deployed throughout the world.
"Over the course of the last three months we have swiftly moved from initial IC development to 3GPP system performance validation while remaining on schedule and on budget," commented Ken Hawk, CEO of Ubidyne. "Our uB900 will provide dramatic cost reduction for wireless network operators. We look forward to bringing our technology to the market and plan to begin demonstration trials with major operators in early 2009."
