California Eastern Laboratories (CEL) has just announced the availability of a new GaAs single-pole double throw (SPDT) MMIC switch. Developed specifically for 5 GHz 802.11a Wireless LAN, the UPG2022 SPDT switch is available in two packages. NEC's industry-standard six-pin SOT-363 style TB package and a new, 2.0 mm x 3.0 mm x 0.75 mm, six-pin T5G package feature flat, recessed leads. Designed for antenna switching applications, the UPG2022 delivers low insertion loss and high isolation. Its specifications include operating frequency range of 4.8 to 5.85 GHz with typical insertion loss of 0.8 dB at 5.85 GHz. Isolation is rated at 24 dB, typical, at 5.2 GHz. The control voltage for the switch is 28 V.

Both switches are in stock and available now from California Eastern Laboratories. In 10K quantities, the UPG2022TB is priced at $0.63 and the UPG2022T5G at $0.74. To help speed circuit design, CEL offers evaluation boards through its network of local sales offices.
