NDK (Nihon Dempa Kogyo Co., Ltd.) has announced the availability of the 2775Y, 2775W, and 2785V series of programmable crystal clock oscillators (XO). These XOs use phase-locked loop (PLL) technology, enabling the devices to cover the frequency range of 1.0~181 MHz. NDK's frequency writing technology allows standard units to be tuned, by design centers (located in North America, Asia, and Europe), to the required frequency quickly.

These products are suitable for new product development where in-circuit testing with the proper frequency crystal oscillators is required while a more exact oscillator is developed for production. They can also be used for smaller production runs that would not warrant the development of a special XO. The programmable XOs are in a miniature, hermetically sealed, four-pad, SMD package measuring 5.0 mm x 3.2 mm with a thickness of 1.0 mm. The standard frequency stability is ±100 ppm at -20~+70ºC. Also available is ±50 ppm at -10~+70ºC.

All of the products have a tri-state stand-by function. Delivered on an embossed carrier tape, trays or bulk, the devices are lead-free and meet the requirements of re-flow profiling using lead-free solder. The 2775Y series operates on a supply voltage of +3.3 VDC while consuming 15~30 mA maximum (frequency dependent) and 30µA maximum in stand-by. It also delivers a CMOS output level.

The 2775W series operates on a supply voltage of +5 VDC while consuming 25~50 mA maximum (frequency dependent) and 50 µA maximum in stand-by. It delivers a CMOS output level. The 2785V series operates on a supply voltage of +5 VDC while consuming 25~50 mA maximum (frequency dependent) and 50 µA maximum in stand-by, and delivers a TTL output level.
