Designed for the UHF band, the CRO0410A-LF voltage-controlled oscillator from Z-Communications operates from 390 to 430 MHz with a tuning voltage of 0.5 to 4.5 V dc. Typical phase noise is –117 dBc/Hz at 10 kHz offset with a typical tuning sensitivity of 17 MHz/V. It suits basestation and portable radio applications requiring ultra-low phase noise performance, and it complies with the European Union’s Restrictions on Hazardous Substances (RoHS).
The CRO0410A-LF also delivers typical output power of –4 dBm at a 5-V dc supply while drawing 36 mA (typical) from –30°C to 70°C. It features typical second harmonic suppression of –15 dBc and comes in the company’s industry-standard 0.5- by 0.5- by 0.22-in. MINI-16 package. The device is available in tape and reel packaging for production requirements. And according to the company, it’s ideal for automated surface-mount assembly and reflow.
