GaAs MMIC DPDT switch targets 5 GHz applications

NEC has unveiled a new gallium arsenide (GaAs), MMIC double-pole double-throw (DPDT) switch for wireless LAN (WLAN), cordless phones, and fixed wireless access designs. The UPG2024TQ operates at 4.8 to 5.85 GHz and features low insertion loss, great power handling and high isolation. It's available in a miniature, low-profile TQ package that helps engineers increase placement density and reduce the size of their designs. It is designed specifically for antenna diversity switching. It is available now from California Eastern Laboratories (CEL). Its specifications include:

    Article Tools

  • Operating Frequency: 4.8 to 5.85 GHz
  • Insertion Loss: 1.2 dB
  • Isolation: 25 dB
  • PIN 0.1dB: +32 dBm
  • Control Voltage: 2.8/0V

The MMIC DPDT switch is housed in a miniature, low-profile 10-pin TSON style “TQ” package that measures just 2.4 mm x 2.55 mm x 0.6 mm. To help speed circuit design, evaluation boards are available through CEL’s network of local sales offices.
