Yokogawa has introduced a high-dynamic range module, the AQ7265, for its AQ7260 series optical time domain reflectometer (OTDR). This 1310/1550 nm module is the latest module for the AQ7260 and offers a typical dynamic range of 45/43 dB. The AQ7260 OTDR offers high dynamic range, fast measurement speed, a bright 8.4-inch TFT-LCD, large internal memory and multiple USB ports for connectivity and data storage. With built-in stabilized light source, this rugged, compact OTDR provides fast, automated measurements of optical networks, and is easy to use. Optional emulation software allows for desktop analysis of OTDR traces and quick report generation. It enables long-distance optical fiber measurements and evaluations useful during manufacturing, installation, and maintenance that were not possible with the conventional models.
