Micrel Inc. has announced the availability of its QwikRadio RF modules from third-party vendors. The modules are designed and manufactured by third parties and can now be purchased directly from select vendors. By encouraging third parties to develop and manufacture QwikRadio modules, Micrel said that it will help customers significantly reduce their RF prototyping cycle time and associated costs, said Micrel.

The modules are easy to operate, feature a small form factor and come in fixed data-rates at standard frequencies (1 kbps Manchester at 315 MHz or 433 MHz). They enable users to quickly design new products by taking a more time-effective and cost-conscious "cut and paste" approach to their RF reference designs.
