RF amplifier modules are broadband

Microwave Technology Inc., an IXYS company, has added two new broadband general purpose amplifiers to its popular line of MPS amplifier modules. MwT’s two new amplifiers, MPS-032701A-82 and MPS-0425A9D-82, are suited for those applications that require medium power, high gain and high linearity. The MPS-032701A-82 operates from 300 MHz to 2700 MHz, and the MPS-0425A9D-82 operates from 400 MHz to 2500 MHz. The MPS-032701A-82 is a fully matched GaAs FET amplifier in a ceramic surface-mount package. It is designed for digital communication applications and as a buffer driver amplifier for a local oscillator mixer stage or as a wideband variable gain amplifier. Its high gain (20 dB), excellent linearity (+34 dBm for IP3), high P1dB (+20 dBm), and high efficiency at a single 5 V bias make it an attractive replacement for earlier TO-8 type modules used in military radio systems.

Likewise, the MPS-0425A9D-82 is a high-linearity (+42 dBm for IP3), high P1dB (+25 dBm) modular amplifier designed to meet the ultra-linear transmitter driver requirements of wireless base station infrastructure applications such as 2G, 2.5G, and 3G, and standards such as GSM, TDMA, CDMA, Edge, cdma2000, WCDMA, TD-SCDMA, and UMTS. Additionally, these amplifiers can also be used for 802.11, 802.16 WiMAX base station applications, as well as point-to-point wireless communication links.
