RF component series meets RFID reader needs
M/A-COM, a business unit of Tyco Electronics has announced a new line of specially designed RFID components including circulators, IQ modulators/demodulators, antennas and amplifiers for use by RFID manufacturers around the world. The initial product released in the "RFID by M/A-COM" series is a new range of ferrite circulators specifically designed for the RFID reader market. All five parts are in a standard, low-cost, surface-mount package suited for high-volume manufacturing.
Each product model is designed for a specific RFID standard along with a tri-band version. The new ferrite circulator series offers typical insertion loss performance of 0.21 dB, isolation of 29 dB and return loss of 28 dB. The MAFRIN0449 is for the Japanese market (860 MHz - 872 MHz), the MAFRIN0453 for the U.S. market (950 MHz - 956 MHz) and the MAFRIN0461 for the European market (902 MHz - 928 MHz). The MAFRIN0332 is also for the European market (902 - 928 MHz), but it is packaged as a robust lead version. The MAFRIN0370 is a tri-band circulator covering all three frequency ranges (860 MHz - 960 MHz).
In 10,000-piece quantities, these products are priced at about $13 each. Production quantities are in stock.
