Supplier extends WLAN power amplifier portfolio
M/A-COM, a unit of Tyco Electronics, has released a new WLAN power amplifier, MAAPSS0075, for use in WLAN 802.11b/g applications for high-speed data and VoIP. This new addition to M/A-COM's line of WLAN and WiMax switches and amplifiers is specifically designed for 2.4 GHz 802.11 b/g VoIP and mobile solutions. This RoHS-compliant silicon germanium (SiGe) amplifier offers a low price-point to answer customer demand for products that will enable them to design and deploy VoIP and broadband technologies.
The MAAPSS0075 power amplifier is designed for use between 2.4 and 2.5 GHz and includes a high-dynamic range power detector. The MAAPSS0075 features a high linear output power of 19 dBm at 60 mA for the QAM-64, 54 Mbps, OFDM 802.11g signal and 23 dBm at 250 mA for 802.11b. The MAAPSS0075 power amplifier is available in a lead-free 3 mm 12-lead PQFN, including 100% matte tin plating over copper in a halogen-free "green" mold compound. The amplifier is reflow-compatible at 260°C.
In 10,000-piece quantities, the MAAPSS0075 is priced at $0.47 each.
