Anritsu Unveils Two Peak Power Meters For Wireless, Military Apps

Anritsu has introduced the ML2480B series of wideband peak power meters for measurements on next-generation wireless and military communications signals. With a 20 MHz bandwidth and 64 MS/s sampling rate, Anritsu’s power meters are suited for evaluating chipsets, modules, handsets, customer premise equipment, and base stations during R&D and manufacturing.

Designed to measure average power, peak power, and crest factor, and statistical analysis of complex modulated signals, the ML2487B model supports single sensor input, while the ML2488B supports dual sensor inputs and allows simultaneous monitoring of WLAN and Bluetooth-enabled devices and provides testing for the co-existence of multiple standards.

The wide-video bandwidth enables high accuracy peak power measurements to be made o the most demanding power envelope conditions. This series of power meters is designed with a number of features to make measurements easier, including an Ethernet remote control interface, preset of 18 popular predefined and configurable measurements, and an external video port that supports LCD and CRT monitors.

Anritsu has also implemented a remote graphical user interface (GUI). PowerMax provides users with results for up to eight gates and four marker readings to be displayed on a monitor simultaneously. Also, with the software users can generate configuration tabs to control instruments directly from a PC, and measurements can be saved directly onto the computer’s hard drive.

The ML2487B is priced at $5,270, while the ML2488B is priced at $6,220. Allow up to four weeks for delivery.
