The AWG7000B series arbitrary waveform generators (AWGs) from Tektronix provide up to 24 Gsamples/s and 10-bit vertical resolution. According to the company, this performance delivers the industry’s best signal stimulus solution for ever-increasing measurement challenges. It also allows for easy generation of very complex signals, complete with controllable jitter, noise, and other signal impairments. Tektronix says that the AWG7000B series is the ideal solution for receiver stress tests of high-speed serial data, development of wideband RF signals, or any application that requires complex signal creation.

These AWGs also offer waveform sequencing. To replicate the real-world behavior of serial transmitters, real-time sequencing creates infinite waveform loops, jumps, and conditional branches, enabling a longer pattern generation. The devices additionally provide up to 32 Mpoints of record length to generate multiple, high-resolution complex waveforms. Their deep memory enables them to generate long patterns to replicate low-frequency events such as spread-spectrum clocking on high-speed serial signals. And, their 9.6-GHz RF frequency output suits wide-band RF technologies and second- and third-generation serial standards.
