UHF Power Amplifier Boosts 290 To 320 MHz
CAP Wireless has announced its new model US1498 high-power UHF amplifier for commercial and military UHF applications from 290 to 320 MHz. Based on laterally diffused metal oxide semiconductor (LDMOS) device technology, the rugged amplifier can be used as a dual-channel or single-channel amplifier, with at least 100 W output power per channel as a dual-channel unit and 250 W output power as a single-channel amplifier. The amplifier operates on a wide range of voltage supplies, from +22 to +32 VDC, and features linearity of better than -30 dBc. It incorporates 4-b digital attenuators on each channel that enable independent power control of each channel. The amplifier, which is designed for airborne and fixed-location use, is supplied in a finned aluminum housing for customer-supplied forced air cooling. It is AN/PRC117(F) compatible and equipped with integrated output isolator for improved output impedance match.
