LNAs Boast High Linearity To 8 GHz
Endwave Corp. has unveiled a trio of low-noise amplifiers (LNAs) with high linearity for applications through 8 GHz. The three models are the JCA02-4000 for use from 500 MHz to 2 GHz, the JCA24-4001 for use from 2 to 4 GHz, and the JCA48-4000 for use from 4 to 8 GHz. The LNAs feature signal gain of 35 dB or more. They exhibit noise figures of better than 2 dB through C-band frequencies with output power at 1-dB compression of +24 dBm and third-order-intercept output headroom levels of 15 dB or more aoe the second-order output compression point. The amplifiers deliver saturated output levels approaching 0.5 W (+27 dBm) with input/output return loss of at least 11 dB across the full operating-frequency bands. They deliver stable performance over a temperature range of -54 to + 85ºC and draw just 425 mA of current from a standard +12-VDC supply. The amplifiers are available with a variety of options including: variable gain control, input/output isolators, input limiters, limiting amplifiers, TTL switches, phase tracking, low phase noise, temperature compensation, detector outputs, and bias-T outputs. They are available in hermetic packages with a variety of connector options, including K, SMA, and GPO connectors.
