Millimeter-wave amplifiers exhibit low noise
Endwave Corporation has released new millimeter-wave JCA amplifiers that exhibit exceptionally low noise characteristics over broad bandwidths. This extension of the JCA family of low noise amplifiers (LNAs) features six new models from 26 GHz to 40 GHz. Features include a noise figure as low as 3.0 dB, gain from 27 dB to 37 dB, gain flatness of 3.0 dB, and a maximum input /output VSWR of 2.5:1. Additional performance characteristics include a minimum of +10 dBm output power at P1dB, and DC current of 275 mA at +15 Vdc.
According to Endwave, these amplifiers are suitable for broader bandwidth applications where consistent low-noise performance is critical such as in receiver front-ends for electronic warfare (EW). They are built to spec in Endwave's automated facility to ensure repeatable performance and can be outfitted with any of the following options: variable gain control, input/output isolators, input limiters, TTL switching, waveguide interfaces, unit-to-unit gain matching and phase tracking, temperature compensation, output power detector, hermetic packages, and bias-T outputs. Special environmental screening is also available.
