Handheld Analyzers Ease LTE Network Maintenance

The FSH4 and FSH8 handheld spectrum analyzers from Rohde & Schwarz add comprehensive functions for in-depth measurements on Long-Term Evolution (LTE) networks (see the figure). Users can now perform modulation analysis in the frequency division duplex (FDD) and time division duplex (TDD) modes. The latest software options promise a more detailed view of LTE signals than comparable instruments. Touted as the only handheld instruments capable of analyzing complete LTE frames with up to 10 subframes as per the standard, they are also heralded as the only tools that support extended cyclic prefix. Additionally, the analyzers can test parallel multi-antenna signal transmissions up to 4x4 multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO). The software options consist of the FSH-K50 and FSH-K51, which allow modulation analysis on LTE FDD and LTE TDD basestations, respectively. Both options support all essential LTE measurements from single-input single-output to MIMO.
