SPDTs feature high isolation from DC to 4 GHz
Hittite Microwave Corporation has released two single-pole, double-throw MMIC switches suited to a broad range of applications including base-station infrastructure, MMDS, WLL, CATV/broadband and test equipment.
The HMC349LP4C and the HMC349MS8G are SMT-packaged SPDTs that operate from DC to 4 GHz, requiring only a single positive control voltage and +5 VDC bias. Both of these GaAs MESFET MMICs feature 67 and 62 dB of isolation at 1 and 2 GHz, respectively, with a non-reflective topology. Power handling and distortion performance is through the 3.5 GHz WLL band with a P1dB of +31 dBm, and an IIP3 of +46 dBm. Setting the enable (EN) input to a logic high will put the switch in an “all-off” high isolation condition for added versatility in CATV and test equipment applications. Customers can choose between two package styles to suit their RF layout needs.
The HMC349LP4C is housed in an industry-standard 4 mm x 4 mm QFN SMT package and is a form, fit and functional replacement for competitor products. The HMC349MS8G is packaged in a compact MSOP8G 8 lead plastic SMT package and offers the same RF pin out as other Hittite MS8G-packaged switches. Products and evaluation PC boards for both switches are available from stock for sampling or sale.
