IEEE Extends Registration For WCET Examination
The IEEE ComSoc has decided to keep registration for its WCET certification program open throughout February for any late registrants. With registration ending on February 28, the WCET evaluation exam will be available from March 16 to April 4.
Prerequisites for the WCET include a bachelor’s degree or comparable comprehension level in wireless engineering plus at least three years professional experience. The objective of the exam is to provide a standard evaluation scale for employers to evaluate job candidates and for job seekers to prove their mettle.
The exam consists of 150 multiple choice questions. Up to four hours are available to complete the exam. Entry fees are up to $500 in the U.S. ($450 for IEEE and IEEE ComSoc members). There are practice exams for preparation, which can be taken four times by an individual.
Individuals looking to take the exam can log onto www.ieee-wcet.org.
