Integrated design platform streamlines high-speed interconnect analysis

Ansoft Corporation, Pittsburgh, has announced DesignerSI, a design environment that combines with Nexxim, HFSS and Q3D Extractor, to deliver system-level signal-integrity (SI) solution for IC/package/board co-design and verification. This environment predicts the performance of high-speed systems commonly found in optical networks, gigabit computers and communications backplanes.

DesignerSI allows signal-integrity engineers to evaluate and optimize design performance and reduce overall design cycle time and costs. By combining Ansoft's circuit simulation product, Nexxim, with fast dynamic links to HFSS and Q3D Extractor, this product provides a powerful environment for performing system-level analyses while making simulation details transparent at the component level. It includes a design capture interface (via schematic or netlist), optimization and tuning, post-processing and system-level simulation for key signal-integrity metrics including TDR (time-domain reflectometry), BER (bit-error rate) and eye diagrams.
