Small format, in-building antenna covers wide frequency range

Laird Technologies, a designer and manufacturer of electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding, thermal management, telematics and antenna solutions, has released its Ultrasphere CAF 94895, a microminiature, low-profile, in-building wireless antenna that provides as high as 3.6 dBi gain and operates over the wideband frequency range of 800 MHz to 2.4 GHz enabling six technologies (AMPS, GSM, PCS, DCS, UMTS and Wi-Fi) to radiate through a single antenna device.

The multiband, omni-directional wireless antenna is targeted at cellular voice and data service providers, system integrators, VARs and OEMS. Due to its extensive wideband coverage, the Ultrasphere CAF 94895 is service provider- and region-independent, which further enhances its flexibility. The aesthetically pleasing Ultrasphere CAF 94895 measures 1.7 mm maximum thickness. The product also is suited for ceiling applications and is unobtrusive, which allows it to be concealed almost anywhere.

Depending on the frequency range, the antenna has a peak gain range up to 3.6 dBi, and its full dimensions are 179 mm x 80 mm x 1.7 mm with a SMA female connector. Samples of the Ultrasphere CAF 94895 are available now with MSRP of $34.95 for 500 pieces.
