Machining Stock Supports Test Fixtures
Materials supplier Quadrant Plastics recently introduced its Semitron MDS 100 machining stock, which is suitable for use in test fixtures and sockets. With a flexural modulus of greater than 1,400,000 psi and low moisture absorption, the material remains stable in a wide range of environments. It features a low coefficient of linear thermal expansion. It is available from stock in thicknesses from 1 to 6 mm and sheet sizes of 250 x 250 mm and 500 x 500 mm, with other thicknesses possible.
According to Fred Sanford, the firm's Global Advanced Materials Business line manager, "We're very pleased to deliver such a promising material to a market that has a clear need."
