Microwave Signal Generators Cover 100 kHz To 50 GHz
The 2500B series of microwave signal generators from Giga-tronics covers 100 kHz to 50 GHz with extremely low phase noise, high rejection of harmonics, high output power level, and fast frequency switching, according to the company. The six models specifically cover 2.5, 8, 20, 26.5, 40, and 50 GHz.
The generators use the Giga-tronics patented Accumulator High Frequency Feedback (AHFF) technology for fast switching speed that’s typically less than 500 µs for a 1-GHz step and as fast as 100 µs for small steps, which is better than 10 times faster than its nearest low-noise competitor, the company says.
The 2500B series of microwave signal generators from Giga-tronics covers 100 kHz to 50 GHz with extremely low phase noise, high rejection of harmonics, high output power level, and fast frequency switching, according to the company.
Also, the close-to-carrier phase noise achieves specifications of –90 dBc/Hz at 100 Hz, which is better than its nearest competitor, and –102 dBc/Hz at 1 kHz offset on a 10-GHz carrier frequency, Giga-tronics says. This makes the 2500B ideal for radar and electronic warfare applications, where close-to-carrier effects on Doppler systems are becoming very relevant for slow-moving targets.
Typical generator noise performance at a 10-kHz offset is –110 dBc/Hz. Furthermore, the 2500B’s output power is +13 dBm at 50 GHz in the standard model without a need for optional high-power versions. Applications requiring much higher power can utilize the company’s line of companion microwave power amplifiers offering a 1-dB compression point of +40 dBm to 10 GHz, +35 dBm to 20 GHz, +23 dBm to 40 GHz, and +20 dBm to 50 GHz.
