Miniature Quartz crystal is ultra small
Japan’s Nihon Dempa Kogyo Co., Ltd. (NDK) has announced the availability of a new series of ultra small, thin, surface mount crystals. The NX2016AA series measures only 2.0 mm x 1.6 mm x 0.45mm, measuring just half the volume of any of NDK’s other crystal products. These crystals operate in a fundamental frequency range of 24 to 80 MHz while weighing just 6 mg. Their frequency tolerance is ± 15 ppm to ±100 ppm over the operating temperature range of –10°C to +75°C. The NX2016AA maximum equivalent series resistance (ESR) in the frequency range of 24 to 25 MHz is 100 Ω, 25~36 MHZ is 80 Ω, and 30 to 80 MHz is 60 Ω. The drive level is 50 µW and has a standard load capacitance of 8 pF. Applications include mobile phones, Bluetooth, WLAN, Zigbee, and NFC. The NX2016AA is offered in a lead-free, RoHS conformance package that meets the requirements for reflow profiling using lead-free solder. Standard frequencies include 24.0, 26.0, 27.0, 28.63636, 32.0, and 40.0 MHz.
In quantities of 10,000 pieces, the NX2016AA is under $1.00. Delivery is 8 to 12 weeks.
