Timing Module Has Its Own GPS Receiver
NDK America has launched a compact timing module with embedded Global Positioning System (GPS) receiver to receive and track signals from GPS satellites. The firm's model NCR-46 module locks onto GPS satellite and delivers a precise 1-pulse-per-second (1-PPS) output aligned with universal coordinated time (UTC) at +3.3 VDC. The module also provides a stable ±0.02 PPM three-channel, 10-MHz standard clock oscillator signal when locked to the GPS satellite signals, as well as a time-of-day (TOD)/GPS signal output. The module includes an RS-232C port for connection to external computers. The module runs on a +12-VDC supply and consumes 5 W or less power during normal operation.
