Protocol Exerciser/Analyzer Verifies MIPI D-PHY Designs
Probing deep into the camera serial interface (CSI-2) and display serial interface (DSI) of MIPI D-PHY designs, Agilentís next-generation U4421A MIPI D-PHY exerciser and analyzer targets high-definition mobile computing applications. In addition to unique tools for analyzing MIPI Alliance interfaces, the instrument adds a ďraw modeĒ that shows the states underlying the protocol. Viewable as a waveform or list, these states indicate correct or incorrect packet interpretation. The U4421A also offers image insertion and extraction software. A D-PHY exerciser option validates designs before components are available. Users can change lane skew, signal voltages and slew rate, data rate, and protocol timing to test designs under a wide variety of conditions. Other features include a modular AXIe blade that allows exercising and analysis of multiple busses simultaneously. The blade is configurable as an exerciser, analyzer, or both. Shipping in September, the U44421A starts at $35,000. A datasheet is available at http://cp.literature.agilent.com/litweb/pdf/5991-0488EN.pdf.
