Noise source generates additive white Gaussian noise for multi-channel receivers
.NoiseWave’s NW2.3G2.7AWGN-4S is a four channel additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) generator designed to add noise to multi-channel receivers. The unit comes equipped with 4 independent noise sources with frequency coverage from 2.3 to 2.7 GHz, and an output noise density of -90 dBm/Hz per channel. The NW2.3G2.7AWGN-4S offers a spectral flatness of ±1.0 dB and comes equipped with 60 dB of attenuation per channel in 1 dB steps, optionally 0.1 dB. Other frequency ranges are available as well, said the manufacturer.
Applications for the NW2.3G2.7AWGN-4S include testing Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) devices, a key feature of the next generation of WiMAX mobile devices. The unit also can be used with a channel emulator to fully characterize the interoperability of WiMAX systems.
